Bright nickel is an electroplated finish which is used for mostly decorative and engineering purposes. Bright nickel offers a mirror-like coating, and its color resembles closely to a warmed silver tone, similar to that of stainless steel or a chrome finish. Due to its high sulfur content, bright nickel is not as ductile or corrosive resistant as other “non-bright” nickels. However, its mirror-like finish is ideal for hiding surface imperfections and polishing lines. Bright nickel can also be used as a base finish to increase the brightness of additional finishing processes.
Bright nickel can be applied to a variety of substrates, including steel, copper, brass, and iron.
